Albany MX, mud slippery hard pack from 9 to 10, then good from 10 to noon, then hard pack dry and ruff from there on.

RVMX, thick mud 9 to 10, tacky from 10 to noon then hard pack from there on.

SODR Keno, mud tack 9 till 11 then hard pack rut from noon to 2ics then hard pack with dirt marbles that can help you fall.

MT View MX muddy from 9 to 10 then awesome tack from 10 to noon, then hard pack with blue groove noon on, late afternoon little dirt ball bearings form that can get you if not careful.

Horn MX, one Saturday in July 2005 it was perfect all day. One Saturday in June 2008 it sucked all day. 50/50 chance

Washougal MX, thick mud am turn to great tack in the early afternoon, then hard pack rut and very slippery in spots.

Madras MX, great back yard track.

PAP MX, good from 9 till 11 then desert sand with some kind of green clay.

This is just a little topic that I am starting please add comets I think if you have a moment this could get some opinions out there about tracks. Please add tracks that you have been too.

mt view super fun layout (good eval Justin on dirt) generally some fun sections and jumps. Hands down one of the most beautiful tracks around. Looks like mx heaven when you first get there in the morning.

Horn (really a winter track. Everytime I have been there it has been watered and groomed very well (in the winter) (super fun Jumps)

washougal to me boring no fun jumps last time I went there super muddy (over watered) huge peg dragger ruts (did I say boring no jumps)

Toes super fun jumps and tech sections can be pretty dry but Steve has gotten the watering down better it seems every year

Spokane almost always over watered super muddy from open till about noon or 1. Then good. Groomed very well kinda loamy mixture of wood chips, a little rocky not bad though. Fun layout, somewhat fast, good traction ok jumps.

Burnt ridge MX. a little iffy depending on how they water. Too much water super slick clay like dirt. Water and till just right super fun loam packs up hard later in the day. One of my favorite layouts, super fun jumps, beautiful place.

Ward Creek. Fast, pretty hard pack blue groove late in the day, good traction. One of the few tracks I can have a pretty good time with not many great jumps.

So just bumming through looking for some Ward Creek info and came along this...
New rider but thought I'd give my .02 Smile

Oak Harbor- Hard pack and rocky. Can get dusty since there isn't any watering system that I know of. However, still fun since it is fairly close to home.

Agassiz- Really like the track. Safe but still fun to ride. Been in pretty good shape each time I've ridden there. However, most times have been for the Old Timer races and kept up pretty good. One practice there and it wasn't bad.

Spokane- I've enjoyed that track since it is pretty safe as well. I feel comfortable riding to my limit there. However, like noted it can get slick.

Hannegan- Another ok track that is close to home. Had fun riding there, dirt is ok and was kept up for the race (thursday night). However never had a chance to ride a practice there.

Toes- Cool track, but I am not good enough to really enjoy it!! Can get dusty but like someone noted, it seems to be getting better.

Horn- Only ridden a couple times (as most tracks for me) but enjoyed it for the most part. Once was muddy, weather driven though.
Once was concrete, again weather driven considering it was like 20 degrees when we started. Overall I like the layout and it is fun for us above average crappy riders Smile

Some WA Tracks: Active 2009

Burnt Ridge ( http://www.burntridgemx.com/index2.htm ) Washougal dirt with a twist – jumps. 2hr from Seattle. A most excellent 450 ride. Red wonder machine loves it. ( pic1 , pic2 , pic3, pic4 )

Washougal ( http://www.burntridgemx.com/index2.htm ) fast but has gotten boring over the years - 1970s to date. Good for TV guys.

Ward Creek ( http://www.wardcreekmx.com/ ) a hoot today every bit as it was when it opened 1980’s something. Fast pace, Easy ride, Big uphills and some cool down hills. ( pic1)

Toes ( http://toesmxp.com/ ) Winter track (3) Big, Small, Int tracks. Resides in a rain-shadow a few miles east of Vantage WA. If it’s rainy and miserable in west WA it’s perfect at Toes. ( pic1, pic2, pic3)

Horn Rapids (http://www.hornrapidsmx.com/) Desert track mounted atop hard pack. Tilled it’s a Wahoo! (450 wise) by end of day a rough bitch. Wind blows hard in afternoons. I had pics but think the ice crusted status musta got'em lost. I'll look.

Strattleline ( http://www.co.grays-harbor.wa.us/info/ORV/index.asp ) Hard-hard pack. Good length but don’t go down it’s like asphalt. (vintage: pic1)

Riverdale ( http://riverdaleraceway.com/in...useaction=Front.Home ) Was good in 2009 not sure about now. Pic is of new ( pic1)

Me too tone-show me too but business-is-business and I'm a firm believer in making a $profit, not the exorbitant kind (like the fat-cat-wall-street-punks) but a decent one - 10%. Decent enough to raise-a-family and benefit a community. I'm WA local and support same and respect the Ridges decision to not open to soon or run to late. It's good for riders and good for business.

Any track that can remain open is-to-me-good-for-business.

Last time I checked Toes was doing same. For me it's Toes in winter and Burnt Ridge in Summer. Make Ward Creek Aug-Oct, Washougal too. Late in year by now. Wait until late spring to early summer and hit Horn Rapids. Late-summer to early winter repeat cycle.

MX'ers spend plenty of $monies on their way to the track and local communities benefit (we stimulate-the-economy) Suggest maybe peeps spread the word. Pass on to local shop owners who you are and where yer going.

Wouldn't hurt to mention food or something good, maybe a compliment about how much you enjoyed the food ... maybe something along the line of a most magnificent Subway "Toasted Jalapeno, Onion and Olive Steak & Cheese topped with Chipotle sauce sandwich" thingy will do. Just a thought

Bellingham has a really good layout. I havent been there for about 5 years but last time i went it did. The dirt there is kind of weird; its a mix of clay, rock, and most of the time loam.
Port Angeles is good too. Its more loamy than bellingham but it seems a little more rocky.
Ive heard that pir is putting in a new track in kent too.
