Sledding, ya I used to do it - took it up having left that most dangerous sport called motocross. I went Polaris and blue but then me blue beast ended up taking up too much room (and-$money) in the garage. When I finished my snow/sled days costs were rounding out to be about one-day-per-year-at-$300-per-day. In the beggining my bud said "try this, you don't have to wash it when yer done". Yeah-and-fer-sure-dude but dang where did that "white-out" double come from or "this-aint-gonna-hurt-its-only-snow---crap-does-that-hurt!" twisted knuckle arrive from.

I loved the snow sport but by end of day I "gave" away my sled. I needed to make room for me next wonder machine.

Bunch of us went up to Republic last week. That place is pretty awesome, especially going with some one familar with the area. Last year we made it up there and you can legally ride into town and fill her up. They also have a full time grave-yard shift groomer too and a great lodge to stay with trails out the back door... called Cohns (sp)? Ranch not sure but we got the grand tour and its a brand new lodge and they are trying hard to make it a destination snowmobile deal. Going back up in a week or two then its Red Mountain B.C.

Well Ken you are more than welcome.... I have been beating myself over the head trying to remember that ranch-lodge that is snomobile friendly, well asked wifey... Its called K-Diamond-K. The folks that own it go by the last name of "Konz". From what I understand its a dude ranch sort of thing in the Summer then they turn it over to the snowmobile crowd in the winter. I guess last year they had snomobile racing too and a big winterfest. This area is really hurting due to the timber industry shutting and needs tourism $$. Thus the reasoning they are trying to pull the snomobile crowd it.

TRA-It is Roman Nose...it is the best place to ride in N. Idaho...bar none. Go with a local...there are a lot of reasonably safe places to ride up there (along with a couple of avalanche death traps...).

Anyone heading out this coming weekend?
Should be fairly good with all the snow they've been getting (I think as I don't check anymore).
