Just thought Id start a shitfest, there hasnt been one around here in a while, and quite frankly, I miss the action....

So with the failed debt ceiling deal (Directly resulting from the incompetence of the Democrats and Obama), The rating downgrade (Directly related to the childish behavior of the Democrats and Obama) and the Drop of the stock market over the last week'ish... Id say that the Democrats are finally getting the results of what they stand for. The fact is, the Democrat party has no clue when it comes to Economics, they have no understanding of what Capitalism is, and they are too busy being generous with other peoples money to realize that the well has run dry...

So with that being said... Id like to see some explanation from the democrat point of view...

Aaron, Paul?

Jane you ignorant slut :-) Sorry justin you may be too young for that.. I'm as pissed off at my own party as everyone else should be about their parties. The thing that really makes me mad is the Tea Party twits. The Dems and Repubs had an agreement, the Tea Party twits had just enough votes to make it a non passable deal. While I understand the logic of the twits there comes a time when you have to realize you were voted into office to govern the people, not just be a book keeper. Governing the people means doing what is good for the nation and holding a vote as important as this was not in the best interest of the country. The debt ceiling had been raised 71 times Reagan and Bush were a couple of the top raisers. I am very dissapointed in the system as a whole. Another thing for you conspiracy folks, justin and Hawk, read up on how the whole debt rating thing works. It's a total sham.

Paul, you do realize that had Paul Ryans plan or Cut/Cap/Balance had passed, that we would have been in the clear as far as our Rating was concerned right? The TEA party caucus was only doing what it was DIRECTLY elected to do, and it did fabulous. The BIG babies in this whole deal were Obama and Reid, they were the whole reason for this mess.

The problem with the ceiling increases under Bush and Reagan (Dont read this as a justification, its not, just FYI) is that the debt was raised but kept to a certain percentage of GDP, that has always been an acceptable way of doing things. Under Obama, it has skyrocketed as a percentage of GDP and its out of control, thats why its a big deal now. Obama makes bush 43 look like a tightwad when it comes to spending.

Looking out for the nation as a whole does not mean that the government has to keep spending obscene amounts of cash, especially when you spend it on things that dont work and never will (Keynesian Stimulus programs, Government run healthcare, Etc.)

The country is broke, and its time to unbridle the US economy, not milk it to death instead, which is what the democrats would prefer to do, because that is their philosophy, to leech off of everything.

As for the rating agencies... They are no more of a sham than Equifax, Transunion, and Experian...

Jane/paul, YOU IGNORANT SLUT. Thanks Paul. That is a classic. Love it.
Doing the best for the country is to borrow 40% more than you take in and spend every penny? Yep, that best for the country!
That's what every household and business should do to be successful in life!

So on a micro scale, what is the cost of a persons house compared to their yearly income? Factor in a car and college education and food, nearly everyone owes more than they make. Our national economy is the same. No one wants to pay taxes but everyone wants to lower the debt. Hey here is a plan, let's do like big business and outsource. Perhaps Russia would like to have our military, and Mexico would like our border patrol. The gov't pays for goods and services just like everyone else. Yes there is waste but the waste generated by the gov't is peanuts compared to the waste generated by the companies that sell goods and services to the gov't. You wanna cut gov't waste, start by making big business accountable and pay their fare share. Tax them for every job they outsource. Stop the oil companies tax breaks, create a flat rate tax that everyone pays.

Paul...reason why our companies go overseas is because of the large government you seem to be protecting. There is little hope for this country unless we can stop the current freight train of socialism. Hats off to the TEA PARTY!

If it's a BIG business, they have a BIG amount of employees and those BIG number of employees and the BIG companies they work for pay BIG millions of dollars in all the payroll taxes. That'snot enough. Tax the holly piss out of whatever BIG profits they make so they can't invest and pay the shareholders who invested in the company to make it BIG.
BIG companies go oversees because there are a BIG nasty number of regulations that cost BIG companies BIG amounts of money making them not competitive with other BIG companies offshore.
BIG governments suck all the life out of BIG and small businesses. OUR ECONOMY IS PERFECT PROOF OF THAT RIGHT NOW.

I agree Paul. A Flat tax rate would be good but a national sales tax would be better. Just no VAT tax. You know that kills jobs. History proves that.
