Hey Dustin,
You should ask these guys if they can help you.

Dustins swingarm has the chain adjuster bolt broken off. He needs it machined out and a thread insert installed.

Can anyone help?

Does he just need it drilled out? I may be able to help but he'll have to wait until I get back next week.

If it's just a stripped-out thread then Helicoil it. Any NAPA shop will have the tools, parts, experience (behind-da-counter guys) to deliver.

I'm doing same thing even as we speak - almost (grins) between Olympics on TV. A drill-motor, a tap, and an insert and Wahoo - its Subway Time!

Guess Dustin better drill-out the busted bolt first - that'll take another Subway just to warm up. Good thing I got a drill motor in hand, and a drill-bit to be drill'n with.

Break time! (Union Rules)

He ended up finding a swingarm.

A helicoil would be the easy way BUT.... its very important the hole is straight. Thats why I asked assistance from a machinest. If the hole isnt perfect, the bolt wont line up with the chain adjuster block.

Problem solved.... EBAY!

Hahaaa and most monstrous laughter emitting from this ole-fart. "its very important the hole is straight"..."If the hole isnt perfect, the bolt wont line up with the chain adjuster block".

Haha who cares if the chain adjuster marks line up. It's sight-line EW scope up the chain. I'd better be straight. Using adjuster block marks is like saying jumping-triples out numbers cornering-speed. I'm watching 2010 Olympics as I write and so "points" are important .. for today anyway.

Bottom line..got "unlimited $funds" then $buy new, on a $budget suggest a visit to NAPA.

Thats funny stuff right there Workman Subway wonder boy...EW did not mean 'line up' to use the marks but that the bolt comes out of the swingarm straight to not land on the adjuster block high, low, inside or outside. Straight out to land flush, bolt head to adjuster block. haha

You getting it now Ken...thought so! PAMF

Aren't you the guy who thought I was dumb for changing my tranny oil every time I rode too...but thats a different story...
