Funny how an old guy off for three years from racing comes back on a tight ass track and makes 8th place. Yes Reed, Ivan, Short, and so on and so on was not there, but that's racing. Just goes to show that these little shits need to step there game up work more for less money. Hawk

Dude the idea is that everyone on the pro level make more money not less, step up there game and work harder maybee so, thats probably debateable for some of the guys lusk beat... but make less money... are you retarted?... pro motocrossers put there lives and careers on the line everytime the gate drops... all the guys in a pro moto need to make more money... currently you make the night show in supercross or the main motos in motcross and finsh 10th or worse and you dont make enough money to pay the trip exspenses to make it to the next round. The guys that finish first need to get payed more and the guys that finish last need to get payed more and thats just the way it is!This message has been edited. Last edited by: Auzzi152,

The problem is two fold. One is, this is the living the pro chooses. The other is none of them have the nads to change it. The point is that unless if some Saturday night after practice all the pros said screw it we aren't racing unless we get more money, nothing is going to change. ------------------------------------ If you wanna live life on your own terms you Gotta be willing to - CRASH AND BURN! ...

I'm kinda with Hawkins on this one cept I'd hammer on the officiating. Get those sand-baggers outta the lower classes fast. Ya can't be a beginner if you've been riding 40yrs. Move'em up and make the track pay pros by per-pro-class-rider-count. More riders more pay. Keep the splits as they are and sweet'n the pot with pro-mo $monies.

SX- 1st through 20th and MX- 1st through 40th- there pro payout on a scale should be at least -TEN- times more!!! Its a joke! the hole shot award? Kinda embarising for the sport? the heat races and qaulifiers should pay out some also.. These young men are highly gifted determined athletes who hang it out big time and with all there overhead??? these privateers all must have like a masters degrees in accounting- business- marketing- PR- nutrition- endurance training- bike building testing setups- injury repair and maintenance- transporter and on and on? just to keep it all rollin race to race.. With hardly any pay! They really do need to make up sort of MXSXRidersGroup maybe find a law firm to draw it up for them and have someone like jimmy button take it to the ama office to give fair warning if it dont start to get better soon or???This message has been edited. If you work hard and disserve to be there then you get paid, SX & MX needs better base pay at a lower rate but bigger win bonus. No more SX and MX deals and if you want to be a champion you need to win both classes for that number one plate and the big million dollar bonus. I get pissed when I see these kids expecting everything when they have not really deserved it. These young bucks need a slap in the face and maybe a doc in pay when they let 40 + year old retired racers kick there ass and when some one comes off the bench after sitting for three + years. You hit the nail on the head Tra! If you line up for a pro moto or qualifier you should get paid well. The sport needs more people like J-law to bring in outside sponsors for not only race teams but also series sponsors with 100 percent of there sponsorship monies going to the compeditors and not the promoters. Really J-Law has nothing to do with this but thought it would get a rise out of some judgemental pricks! On a local level Devol at PRO and the MXGP crew both have done a good job in the past paying out the pros. I thought it would be fun to put Devol and MXGP in the same sentence... bottom line PAY THE PROS MORE... them and there familys have put hundreds of thousands of dollars into the sport before they line up for there first pro moto... p.s. justin you never answered my question... are you retarted??? if so then i will take your posts lightly and ill take it eazy on ya... a dock in pay??? pay all of em more... everyone who lines up for a pro moto has worked hard and deserves to be there, look how much fairys are gettin payed to hit a golf ball or a tennis ball or to turn left in nascar, compared to motocross its crazy!

No I am not mentally handy cap, grew up in a very military family so what you say has no meaning to me. You are just like every other Australian, a dick head. I guess that’s why all the women there want AMERICAN MEN. I say this in as light of manner that I can. Hawk
|
Dude thats funny @$$ $hi^ I guess thats the same reason american women love aussies! Thanks for clearing up that issue about you being a retard, Id like to take this opportunity to say I love retards. I knew this one cat with a forehead the size of a grage door he was rad!

As a judgemental prick I will go out on a limb and say the Pros are not smart enough or organized enough to pull this off. Do they deserve more? Hell yes they do. Will it happen? Probly not soon. We ride for the thrill, Pros ride for the thrill. They love the sport and if they can make a meager living at it the will continue to race. All the Pro Motoheads need to make a stand and demand at least a decent payout to the last place qualifier.

Big Eric lobbying for a riders union??? Wow, I've been off of here for too long! What has this place come to???
|
So how would that motivate riders to race and not just ride around?
|
Since when do motocrossers need motivation to go fast? 95% of motocrossers have ricky bobby syndrome... i wanna go fast... that excludes some beginners whos nuts never droped, a few posers, a few vets with - i got to go to work on monday syndrome - and a few chicks but all in all no matter the skill level I don't see a lack of motivation to go fast, even if there just racing for a piece of plastic. p.s. eric i dont think your judgemental... and even if you are its ok to be judgemental if your over 6 foot tall, with great height comes great responsibility...

Back to the pay scale do you know when a professional base ball player makes it to the bigs the base pay is $40K per year after taxes. Once you make a name for yourself it jumps to $500+K a year, then the millions. All these players have insurance policies that cover ALL medical cost and if you are on the bench hurt you still get your 40K. Now let’s do the top 40 in motocross, there should be a team base pay, then when you prove yourself for that team the base pay increases. After that there should be no more pay increase but huge bonuses. A top ten bonus, top 5 bonus then a championship bonus. Instead of a team paying One guy $1 million a year then $100K for his teammate. Have a base pay of $200K per year get some additional riders on that team, then bonus money from there based on your performance. This way more teams could get more riders and gives more chances to the privateer to get better help. I hate to say this but some riders out there feel they should get $1 million a year no matter were they place. They have the I came in last place but hey that’s ok I still get my Million, that is BS. baseball is gay... like logger on quad rider gay...

foreigners should have to pay to ride in America. Hawk

The only way that baseball players minimum salary is if you are talking about players in the minor leagues. The minimum salary for a major league baseball player I believe is 500K, and gauranteed as long as you stay on the roster. I firmly believe that no sports athletes are over paid. They get paid what they are worth in all sports. Now we all might think that motocrossers should make more or less but believe me if motocross was as popular as baseball and had a union fighting for their money they would make a ton more. In this sport you make what you are worth, its sad but true.
|
The minimum salary for the 2008 MLB season is $390,000. From the MLB players assoc. website.
|
While 390 is a ways form 500, its even farther from 40. Crazy that a bench player that might see the field once or twice a week makes that, but........
