Hey this maybe just my bike but i found the clamp between the air boot and air box was loose no dirt got by (i think its glued too) but scary its most likely was that way when i got the bike i cant see that coming loose on its own so check em! mine is a 2010. 450 or 250 should not make a difference (same air box)
