I remember a friend of mines Dad ordered him a DMC KX back then. Not sure it was a 100? I just thought it was an 80??? I do know it was a DMC special order bike though. They were The Shit back then.

DMC used to make alot of special parts for KX's back then the most common modded bike they did was a stock bike but with thier motor mod's suspension mod's thier pipe / silencer and seat cover with maybe the air box cover or special rad shrouds they made for the 80 / 125 maybe the uni-trak link arms.

You could pre order a new bike setup this way from them 60 thru 500 of course the most common was the 80 or the 125.

The bike in these pictures was one of the very few actual fully modified DMC KX 80 big wheel that was setup for the supermini class as a 100 I think they actually called it a 105 back then.

Look closely at this bike and you'll spot the fully removeable aluminum subframe. Special DMC plastic Rad shroud and number plate with track aluminum tank with special made seat.

Special hand made swingarm and hub with rear disc setup same with front but the disc was a floating design. I think it was a KX 125 hubs and brake system modified. Rear shock is a KX 125 shock modified to fit along with some other frame tweaks like gussets I'm sure.

I forget how much they retailed for wasn't it around $5 grand which was a lot back in 1987 since you could of gotten a new 250 for like 3 grand out the door, what did a new KX 80 big wheel cost 1300 OTD?
