A'rent timserts the solid threaded replacement? Not just the wire? I don't know if there is enough room for one of those. The hole in question is the attach hole for the lower fork guard. Not much edge margin for anything more than a helicoil. I may make a thin titanium insert though.

I've got to re-thread a CRF cam-holder-to-cover-cap and was going the heli-coil rout but it looks like Time-Sert might be the way.

Heli-Coil is easy just:
1) Drill
2) Tap
3) Insert
4) Remove tang

So, What's the diff between Heli-Coil and Time-Sert?

The Timesert is a threaded solid bushing whereas the helicoil is just a wire. The timeserts are a betterw ay to go but I already have the helicoil stuff. I may make my own timesert though.
