some of you may care , or not but you may find this interesting anyway. this summer i was robbed and the theives stole 3 bikes, my truck and alot of other things. a week later they caught some poeple in my truck. i got the truck fixed but it took a few times because the insurance company thought some of the stuff was prior damage but anybody who knows me knows i keep my stuff nice. about a month later when i was on vacation in idaho i saw one of ther bikes for sale on craigslist heres where it gets good.(its monday) i call the cops , they show up i show them pictures and the cop says"thats definately your bike". 2 days pass and i hear nothing from the police. A buddy of mine Mark Orgill goes to the buyers house to check out the bikes, identifys them and the car scene leaving my house when i was robbed by the neighbors. we call the cops again and now they have someone else helping me. so it takes the police 9 DAYS!!!!!!! to get a search warrant and they finally bust them the following saturday. Unreal huh ,and of course all my stuff is gone at this point but they still find some other peoples stuff. and in the meanwhile the insurance company tells me they are not going to cover the bikes now. so who screwed me the most? the insurnace co, the theives or the police. only good thing is i know where they live now what would you have done guys? seriously though. or should i say what would you do now or just let it go. keep in mind these guys live 3 miles from meThis message has been edited. Cement boots and a local river... Seriously, I would do 2 things: First, get a hold of the chief of police and ask what the procedures are to file a complaint with the department. Explain your situation as you did. Get answers to why the process took so long. Once you have the answers, fight your insurance company to the end. Tell them you want your situation heard in front of the panel. (they all have a panel that either deny's or accepts claims). Tell them you want to attend. Also, work your way up the chain. Talk to the highest person you can in the insurance company. Ask if there is a formal complaint procedure to petition your claim. Keep pushing, don't give up. They will do everything they can to not pay your claim, but don't get discouraged. I fought with my health insurance company for almost a year to get them to pay for my knee braces. After several attempts, petitions, and claims hearings, they final paid for both!

Hey bud bottom line is it sucks... sorry it happened to you... as far as making a stink at the pig pen i think that would be a bad move, it seems like cops have a tendency to target anyone who causes waves justified or not.

Yes he should. My Dad has been the head detective in the town he lives in for 8 years and a deputy sheriff 10 years before that. He needs to make sure that this is not just swept under the carpet. If the job was not down properly, then the appropriate people should know. Next time, they won't be so laxy dazy about a situation like this. Squeaky wheel gets the grease...

in what way will it benifit brian? If by getting the grease you mean get bent over by the cop who droped the ball and his buddies then yea vetmx your probably right...

its funny , the cops tell ya to stay put yet without what we did they would have never gotton anything. plain and simple i should have gone, or should have gone and got my stuff and called the cops to tell them that, "im on my way" and things could have been under control

hes on king 5 news and loves stories like this or things that happen to people where they have been abused or mistreated like in the workplace and other stuff. if he got this story he would tear the police apart and enjoy it, i would then get treated like a criminal from now on. hey andrew call me 425 903 0306

You would think the cops could of done alittle survalence while waiting for the warrant and maybe caught them rollin down the road with the hot stuff then they would have had probable cause to go back bust in the place without a warrant? I think if they dont have a warrant its alot harder to make it stick and the defense can get them off for unlawfull entry. Ive heard of cops waiting inline for a warrant to get signed by a judge can be a problem because there so backed up. I have alot of freinds that are cops I ride bikes and sleds with that appear to be under a microscope with the public for everything they do. I have rode with them a few times while there on duty and it seems very high risk and under paid for what they do. Not like jumping tripples high risk. They really hang it out every day all day and there always understaffed. But nine days does seems ridiculous! Why couldnt the sherrif go straight to the judges house at night and have it signed? I have three judges as neighbors and the cops roll in at all hours of the night getting them signed. I would be pissed off to and would want some answers..

exactly!! and the detective told me this as well. what i learned was i should have told them im going to the guys house and that would have forced them to be there to prevent a bad situation from happeneing. what sucks more i i havent heard from them since. with out our help they would have had nothing. they basically said we wee stupid for going there

We had this happen! 2 bikes stolen by neighbor hoodlums. Cops did nothing, insurance wouldn't pay. Joe discovered the bikes a couple months later so we called the police and told them we were going to get them, cops never showed up. Brave hubby went and picked up the bikes. No one was ever prosecuted. The only thing that came out of it was I discovered you can insure 4 bikes through GEICO for $16.00/month. Everyone should do it! two4seven (or his mom)

4 bikes $16? Sweet jesus thats a deal!! Im on it-

9 days for a search warrant is BS. The problem with this is people will start taking the law into thier own hands and folks will get hurt trying to protect thier assets etc. Lack or slow law enforcement when a crime could have been easily and quickly resolved such as in this case is going to make people think twice about calling a detective etc. I agree they could have staked out this house. Crooks hangs with crooks and this case could have led to a quanity of arrests, drugs and stolen property from numerous individuals going in and out of this place, thats the way it works.

yeah i did that now and will for now on
