Have a 2010 450 and love it. Absolute instant response. It was tough at first getting used to it, but after a few rides you do. I went from my '06 to this '10 so it was a big change. NO PROBLEMS whatsoever. Coming up on 20 hours. The good is they are great. Nothing bad to say other than the 'flame out' that you can get by chopping the throttle, but that can be fixed with idle adjustments. Have not had any glitches, so have no fixes Best running bike I've had. It's the lightest one too. I ride my '07 CRF 250 and then jump on the '10 450 and wieght wise they are almost identical...power wise not so much |

| I do, I do, I do have something to say, Just can't remember what it is?
Oh yea I remember it's all about molecular decomposition, da CRF Fuel Filter thingy I mean. Drill down to any root-cause and you got a turning point. Go one way and you gotta solution the other and well it's a messed up mess. In the case of da CRF I'm thinking molecular decomposition because dat-som-bi~ch just-plain-stops-werk'n and not like it's plugged but just stops as in minutes. Plugged filters degrade over time but not so with my version of the injected CRF jobbie (early 2009). So yes Vern I do have something to say buvt it aint all bad.
In 2009 I picked up a first-run CRF 450. It had problems (expected for first runs) but I werk'd through'em. decomp-lever-breakage - turn up idle, flat-top-end - go Crower Cam, Down on power - ignition-fuel remap, need suspenders work talk to Yamaha, better yet get some of them Black-Kawi-Coated fork legs (seals too), even better go local suspender guys cause local is just plain good.
Bottom line HRC injection team needs werk, chassis team is worth a ga-billion $bucks. |

| I have a 2009 CRF450R I have had it a year this past weekend with ZERO issues, it is the best running bike I have ever owned. Supper power down low and mid, with stock exhaust it does have a fall out on power on the top end but with a PC T-4 complete exhaust that issue has been solved. I have EVO suspension the bike feels like a 250F but with mega HP. I know this may come up so that you know, the fuel in the case only happened to me twice and it was my own fault by starting the bike and chopping the throttle right off the bat with out the engine being warmed up.

I hear ya Hawk but can't attest to the "fuel in the case" thingy. Love my 2009 3 450CRF (350CRF cause it's seems impish) but also love it cause it's red. 40-30-20 years of switching colors has left me with "consistency" vs "performance". "$Cost-per-ride" vs "bring-it-home". |
