2014 yz250f shift stopper failure! poss water pump shaft breakage
Hey this is just coming about but some people have had the bearing break on the shift stopper lever and cause damage mostly tranny. Updated part # is now avil it is like the yz 125 replaces the bearing with a solid roller wheel if it was i'd be swapping it asap!

also some reports off the water pump impeller shafts breaking snapping in half no word on if Yamaha is or has any update on this. Some reports of shift shaft bearings being lose causing shaft play could be related to shift stopper breaking.

This was a huge problem on the 06 YZ125. I had to fix many motors after this bearing went out.

I just ordered that part for a YZ125 I'm building.

I got lucky and never broke the one on my 06 YZ 125 swapped it out long ago. It took yamaha awhile to get the update out and even then it wasn't announced. They quietly just updated the part on the '07's and never said anything untill someone noticed it. I hope they got it fixed in time hopefully if ya get a 2015 you don't get a nasty surprise.

Yamaha is in denial if you call your dealer you probably won't get anywhere or even yamaha usa.
