I am pleading for your help. Many of you have received emails about Randy Abrahamson's situation. There are a few new developments and an new website for you to see. Please take a moment to read about the situation and feel free to send this to anyone you know that can help. Thank you, to those of you that have agreed to put this on your websites. Quick history: Randy Abrahamson (an RMC Team rider) was severely injured in a motocross accident in 2005 at Longview Motocross track. Randy's been in and out of the hospital for the last 4+ years. Children's hospital was told Randy's family there is nothing more they can do, he will have to deal with tubes hanging out of his body and constant trips to the Hospital for the rest of his life. The Mayo Clinic, in Rochester Minnesota, has said they may be able to help. Randy was unable to attend his first appointment in November because of a lack of money. They have a chance again on Jan 3rd. We need to step up and get him to this appointment. I am personally asking that each of you to donate as much as you feel you can, $5...$10..$100... Put yourself in this situation, put your kids in this situation! Personally, I can't even rap my brain around how difficult this must be for Randy and his family. Please visit Randy's web page, click the "Donate" button TODAY! Randy must have the money together by Christmas! http://hopeforrandy.blogspot.com/ Joe Jones Renton Motorcyles 425.226.4320 / 800.460.6451 jjones@rentonmotorcycles.com 3701 East Valley Road, Renton, WA, 98057 www.rentonmotorcycles.com

How much money do they need to raise to get the kid to the mayo clinic?
|
I went to Randy's web site (which took a while to load) and couldn't find an easy way to make a contribution so I think I'll head down to RMC (6 minutes) at lunch and look up Joe. Appreciate the post EW

Ya'll did it! The WA motorsports community really stepped up and got Randy to his appointment. Ya'll should feel proud... Joe Jones -RMC Hello Everyone, Update on Randy's trip to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. We arrived on Saturday night and his first appointment was on Monday morning at 7 a.m. They started with blood tests and then in the afternoon they did an extensive ultrasound on his stomach and liver. They gave us an itinerary for Tuesday starting with a study on the bile duct system where they put die into the tube that goes to his liver. When they got that test done they ended up changing the tube in his liver, it was due to be changed. When they completed all of that they wheeled him into the next tests which were and MRI and an MRCP which gave them a better picture of the liver and the bile duct system. Late Tuesday afternoon we met with one of the doctors and she informed us that the test results hadn't come back yet so we would be meeting with the surgeon the next day. Wednesday afternoon we met with the first doctor who was not the surgeon but another doctor that worked with the surgeon. He told us that the surgeon would be in shortly and that he would answer any questions we had. He brought up the pictures of Randy's liver and showed us a little of what was going on and then told us that the surgeon told him that there would be no problem in fixing Randy's liver for him. Randy's eyes welled up with tears as the doctor walked out of the room. He was looking up at the ceiling and I asked if he was ok, he broke out crying saying he was thinking of all the things that he'll be able to do again once they get him fixed. He was so excited that finally after all this time someone will be able to help him. The doctors were surprised about the doctors here in Washington that they hadn't done something to help Randy before this. The surgeon came and talked to us and told us that he doesn't have a problem fixing Randy's liver and that it should have been done a long time ago. He said that he hasn't had a case like Randy's but he knows the liver so well that he has no question that once they get in there they will be able to determine if they can connect the bowel to the leaking area and that would work or if the right side of the liver is too damaged that he'll just take the right side out and he'll be fine. These doctors were absolutely wonderful and there was no question that they know what they are doing. They told us we could schedule the surgery right away but we were unable to because we had other obligations here at home and weren't expecting them to do something so quick. We will end up having to be there for 2-3 weeks depending on how extensive the surgery ends up being so we're going to try and get it scheduled as soon as we are able to. We will make sure to keep everyone posted as soon as we know when we can get back there for the surgery. I also post information on Riderdown.org under Randy Abrahamson if you are interested. Thank-you everyone, Take care and we'll talk to you soon! Mickie and Randy Abrahamson
