As a multi year MX/AX dad I couldnt agree with that more. My son is now entering the US Navy Nuke program and wont be racing this year.
I have seen way to many noobs try to huck a big jump that they shouldn't even be thinking about.

Now that I can deal with in pic 1 : long whoop section to corner and out into another long whoop section. Add in 4 more sections like that and I may be able to compete once again Smile

Ok Crater makes a great point.. SIR or whatever they called it went the way of the safety police. This is when Clem was getting confronted that his tracks were to tough for the average rider. When the tracks were tougher the ambulance left the track once every 3 fridays after they made the tracks safe the ambulance left every friday. Lee makes great tracks and if something is big then dont jump it! No one is making you jump it.. Lee always makes the triples safe if you dont jump them and most of the time if you come up short they are forgiving. Hell I am an old school guy myself and I remembers Lees 60 plus foot double at Webb Hill Motocross track in Shelton.. You had 2 choices jump it perfect or dont jump.

Look our sport is already watered down from when I started the tracks are way easier then they have ever been and Lee makes great tracks that work well inside a very tight Arena. I dont feel that if Lee changed the tracks it would make that big of impact on rider turnout. but that is only my opinion.

Here is my take. If you build a 60 foot double or triple someone who shouldn't be jumping it will try. Make a standing rule, if you are in the beginner class, you cannot jump a triple or a table over xxxx feet or you are DQ'd. The vast majority of the ambulance rides come out of the beginner classes. Give the beginners back their class. Also, run an old man seperate practice.

I like your idea Paul...when I lived back east some promoters did that. Each track had two or three jumps that where "illegal" to jump in the beginner class. If you wanted to jump the big stuff, you had to run with the faster guys. I you jumped them as a beginner, you were black flagged...during practice or the race.

I agree. It's Oct 2009 up here in the Pacific NW so now It's almost AX (WHR Motorsports) time. Make yer choice riders bumps or jumps.

Me..I'm just grateful there is a any kind of racing this time of year in the NW come winter time.

Lee (dude) yer ok in my book.
