Went out there yesterday for their practice, and had a great time. Even brought home a few dents in the header (probably thanks to Steve Fair and Clarence)

That place is really fun, and we got a pretty decent amount of riding out there. The weather was perfect too.

Pipe dents are not good. I switched to stainless for that reason. It was good to see Steve back on the bike and Aaron shredding some berms! A little chilly but perfect conditions! Track was awesome. Sunday Racing was a blast! Rider Steffey had a spectacular getoff when he swapped into a water barrel exploding it. It sounded like a bass drum! He survived with some bruised ribs and a destroyed bike. Nothing serious though. The Washington State series has ended. Very fun, really enjoyed it. Will be doing it again next year for sure!!

The barrels at the bottom of the downhill??? If so WOW... glad I missed them by inches on my last outing of practice Sat. I thought hitting them just as thay sat would have sucked; but with H2O in them: OUCH!!! Glad I recovered.

Right on Justin, I think I am going to try to get back with my Son on Halloween, weather permitting.

Dents or not, it was a lot of fun.

I had that place on my Calendar until Mother Nature kicked in. 2010 has been WHACK! Don't know about the rest of you but I'd had enough.

Doc took out 30 years of Screws, Pin and Plate from left leg. Only got holes to heal up before my next ride.

Glad you guys had fun and good to hear Steven is riding again post his whole Cadillac Ranch get off.

Ya know I was wondering .. any hints on how to exactly make a PA round if one was just want'n to Practice?

Yeah, I got ahold of Jerry Weider, and he said that it was the tracks intention to have a practice. He said he would be updating the website.

We are planning to have practice Saturday. We have had little rain here in Port Angeles. The rain shadow works great when the weather comes form the south like this last storm.
The forecast is for showers both days.
See you there.
Jerry

And the weather was Great! First time there and I had a blast. Much thanks to the mxppa pres for pulling me over everything first lap so it didn't take me the usual all day to get confortable. Sweet track! Wish I could go more often... Nice work OPMC crew!

There will be a race on Nov 14th. I asked if they were going to hold a practice on the 13th but they said not enough people showing up this late in the year to support a practice day. Sorry.....This Sundays race was perfect..rained a little Sat night by 10 am the track was perfect...great racing!! Fun times! Arron thank you for your great roll model decision...it really showed ..... how he should behave on the track, teaching moment..LOL. Nice to see Sharky burnning laps and great to meet MX516! See ya next time around.

Mark,

I was happy (in a selfish way) that there was hardly anyone there Saturday. Sure made for a great day of riding. But I can't blame them for not wanting to put on practices when only 35 folks show up. There were almost as many flaggers and kitchen staff as there were riders!

Good time though. Great seeing you again.

Sorry I couldn't make it, got every MXer excuse made cept this. Life's GREAT! having no more screws-plates-or-pins holing me together I was not got to sacrifice my new found freedom for a 1-100 chance of exploding bones.

All, I have PA on my calendar as a Most-Excellent MX track. I have stories of locals doing amazing/scary things. I have the secret way to and fro. I have memories of days gone by and looking forward to those yet to come. OPMC is a hoot!

PA is on my Radar and I'm glad ya'all had fun.

Doc says come Dec I can ride. I've been doing my meds and taking care and will not sacrifice the immediacy of a ride for another lifetime of hurt. The price of 30 years of pain was to high for a one-day'er MXPPAA run (Sorry Aaron) but not so high as to make me not plan for 2011.

I know the physics and I know the business. I'm sure OPMC will be there going forward. My only question is - for whom?

I remember our epic "battle" that came down to the final race of the Fall series complete with 8 inches of snow and still coming down in 2006 to settle our tie going into that race for the District 27 championship. Wish I still had that "speed" today.
