Sorry. I meant what time of the day to start racing? Is 3:00 for practice and 5:00 for racing too early for people to make it from work? What time did it start last year?

I say start as late as you can. so it gives more time for traffic, ect. and you would have more riders.

If you are going to run 2 motos, 5:30 may be pushing it, depending upon how many classes you can squeeze together.

I think practice at 5 and racing at 6 or 6:30. The curfew is 11 but it would be good to be on schedule to finish at 10:30 for unfortunate incidents. I think its key to run a tight show and not too many laps for the first motos. It should help to have some races on the new pee wee track also.

You should start the practice earlier but run through it twice. The second practice would be one lap less. Some people cant get there early enough to make the first practice but they can get the second practice. Many people could make the first practice and they would get an extra lap for getting there earlier.
The second round of practice would go much faster because there would be less riders. The racing would be able to get starter sooner then. More laps for all the riders!!!

With the new layout it looks you might be able to start one race (safely) while the last of the riders from the previous race are still coming off (the holy-grail of race schedule timing). Pull that off (again safely) and you'll make yer mark. Do that and I'd say start practice at 4:00 and go to 5:45. That'll give you a few for riders meeting and nothing more. No last minute one lap practice.

I agree with EW and maybe run 2 practices. I say $charge for a second one but limit it to two $4 extra maybe. Water trucks been an issue in the past. Get water down and early, bout 1/2 hour before practice starts I'd say. Not much I hate more than riding a mud race when it's 90F and not a cloud in the sky. I suffer through mud all winter why would you deprive me of the little bit-o sunshine I git in the summer.

The new layout looks tight so I'm thinking fewer red truck rides, smaller bike, and safer. Safe is good. I saw some moderate speed by dudes and dudettes making some dubles last Sat. For now I'm thinking a 250F track (Note to self..leave big bike at home).

Whoops looked a bit awkward, at least last Sat they did. I'm sure they'll get fixed. By riders or the dozer they'll get fixed, cause somehow they always do. Saw dudes roost'n the tops of'em try'n to take'm down to size. Whoop this (grins). Me I was eat'n my waffle fries (cooked up at the snak shack) so don't blame me bout no roost'n.

Saw a little guys track with mini-whoops-n-jumps. What's with that. Will you run it on race day, run it separately and in conjunction with the regular one? Will the little guys get their own track for Friday night races? (Argh!) talk about a logistical nightmare parents on one track and peewees on another and all at the same time!

I need a Subway (grins)

The plan is to run the pee-wee track at the same time. This will create more time for the big bikes, and when the little ones are done, maybe they could just practice if they get the co-operation from the parents.
Clem did it this way for his friday night series, and it worked real well.
The parents who also race, always seemed to make it work.

BTW....... thanks for the input. I'll make sure Bob get's the suggestions.

I used to run the Pee Wee track when Clem ran the series. Quite often I would have 115 riders on the Pee Wee track. Like Vern said at least 50 riders running at least two classes. We had no lights back there at the time so we always had to get done before dark. Quite a few of the parents would help out. I did have 2 to 3 flaggers and then at least 2 lap checkers back there. It was only for about 3 hours, then the other flaggers would go help out somewhere else. The lap checkers would go in the office and help out if need be. It worked out real well.
