Ted, Garrett, Royce, and the rest of the crew,

Fantastic job of getting so many races, with that many racers, cranked out!

Great event. You have to be on par with the Amateur Nationals at this point.

Thanks again.
D

I believe Motosport won. Destry Abbott was on their Team along with some other Fast riders.

Hillsboro Motosports won again for the second year in a row. They brought up Trampas Parker from Louisiana. He killed everyone in the vet classes. He had 9 moto wins. The guy has speed but Waunch pulled the hole shot on Trampas in all three 30+ pro motos. After a few laps Trampas would get the better of Waunch.

I think he won 40A, 30A, and 25A all motos.

He is so smooth and he always seemed to have a little extra if anyone tried to make a run at him.

Not only did Eric Waunch lead former world champion I to holeshot a moto and lead for.....
300 yards... overjumping everything in my path. The whole time Trampas Parker's fender is right next to me. After overjumping the giant tabletop step down by the old start I waved Mr. Parker by before I killed myself. The dude is smooth fast and rode just fast enough to beat everyone. Eric kept him behind him for longer than anyone. Way to go Eric Waunch on a 450 YZ.

P.S. Thank you everyone for showing up and giving us 111 great motos. What a first class bunch of racers and their families.

Great job on Top Gun. Ted, Garrett, Royce and everyone else on the PRO staff deserve great kudos as the event went off as professionally as any event I have ever attended, including Nascar, World of outlaws, etc. etc.

Public Apology Eek

I received a call (voice mail) from Ted asking if I would like to retract a voice mail I left him Thursday night...before Top Gun.

The message? Well let's say I was pretty vocal about how running backwards was less than a stellar idea and that the risks were to great. It would not be as fun, yada, yada, yada.

Ok Ted, here it goes...enjoy it my friend..

I was wrooo, I was wronnn, I was wrong. Wink

You truly pulled off a great event and a am sorry I doubted you guys.

damn that's hard to do.

It was a great time, although there were more injuries than normal. I'm not sure if that is because of the track or the size of the event. I know I'm sportin' 3 broken ribs. Oh well, I'm off to Italy tomorros so they will have time to heal.

Thanks, you guys. Jeff Brock is doing good and said he had to fight his way out of the Hospital on Tuesday. I called him and asked how he's doing and he just asked how I was doing. I said better than him and he said no your not. I had to inform him he was on drugs and he said.
Oh ya..... your right. He said he lacerated his liver. No surgery. We are hoping we can place on our wall, the proto pics photo of him flying through the air. Less bike. Great photo, bad ending. As Brian Barns would say. " That's gotta hurt."

he said today he was sore but was feeling really lucky. i saw jeff crash a few times(most were not his fault twice in the whoops and the last time was the bad one on monday. the first time some guy changed lines right in front of him at the last second and he had no where to go. you know what was good abouit the old layout was after the start it didnt thin out so much and going up the hill the bikes had a chance to thin out a bit. i liked the new layout but it was too tight and no room to pass until the whoops in the start

Actually I watched a lot of moto starts through the first section and there were many many passes going on all the way. And even towards the end of the moto there were passes going on where going the other direction that same section is very difficult to pass on. I wasn't worried that people wouldn't like the change because I rode on it reverse years ago but their crew didn't spend the time to make it correct. Even then you could tell that if it was prepped for that direction it would be sweet. Having reversed Spokane, Riverdale and Jolly Rogers back in the day, I had to do Washougal because after 25 years of riding there it gets a little boring. I suspected that it wouldn't get as rough running reverse also and it did turn out that way.

Ralph said he was going to keep it like this till the end of the year. Sharkey, your right about it being tighter than going up the uphill but think about the old amateur start. Its tight all the way to the new start.

the down hill left leading into the old hillsboro was better on Monday since there was a small wall around the outside.

That section was a little dicey on Saturday after the quads buffed it smooth and there was no outside edge.

Almost soiled a good set of leathers Eek
