Just looked at the pro payout for top gun and noticed that the 25+ 30+ and the womenonly get 80% payback. Why would you short these classes, especially the women. If anyone needs the help it is going to be these young girls who are constantly being pushed to the side. It is harder for these girls to get sponsored because it seems like no one takes them seriously and only getting 80% payback is the same thing. I had no idea that this was an issue at a local level like it is. I think it is a joke for any promoter to make money on the pro classes of any age or class by taking from the money they put in. the idea that they pay in and dont get all the money back is just sad. The girls want to make a living at this too. the 25+ guys all need the money too as they ride these classes to subsidize their weekends and they wont come out if they cant afford it. I am not taking shots at you here Ted or Garret I am just blown away because Ted has always been such an advocate for the local pros.

Expences to produce and run TOP GUN exceed $70,000. This includes the $16,000 pro purse, $20,000 to rent the place and the team payouts.
Then we need to pay all the workers pay for trophies and such. It takes 2 people working full time for 2 month before the event even starts. We need to have a little money to live on here you know.

If you can get all the pro's to agree to take some of their purse and give it to the 25+, 30+ and womans class and still get almost 40 professional riders to show up, that's what we will do.

everett powersports. Not that i dont understand that you need money to live on ted but I think you will bring in enough money to not take the couple of bucks from the small pro classes. I am not saying that you need to add to their purse just pay out what they pay in. Just dont make money on the pros unless its by using them as a promotion to get people in the gate.

I'm kinda with Crater on this one but then I just got done watching the Demo Convention on the tube and am all pumped up with Michel O's and Ted K's speeches.

Ted, Dude, I'm being taxed hard enough already. Between my gas, income, food and air taxes it's tough enough so how come you gotta tax the women mxers too? Not saying I'm a girl but I still can't jump those Burnt Ridge triples.

People wanna know....you gonna tax my "Toasted Jalapeno, Onion and Olive Steak & Cheese topped with Chipotle sauce sandwich" too?

I would say you guy's are lucky that there is even a 25+, 35+ and Women's Pro class that pay anything.
There are not too many events that pay 5 different Pro classes.

I will 2nd that...

The "Dads" and "Moms" have supported the sport for many many years before they see a red penny come back there way. Typically, dad will race 1 or 2 classes and junior will race a couple classes. If you take care of "dad/mom" with a couple bucks, it will offset junior's entries and in turn makes it a little more affordable to race every weekend that we can...

Motocross is all about Family and uhhmm well the all mighty dollar as well! Smile
