Now Alex and Tone Show, please carry on...

LOL! Come on Aaron, Al "I created the internet" Gore, I said someone worthwhile, not some tree hugging, spineless weenie. (not that Dubya was any better) It has come to a point over the last 2 to 3 elections that you are voting for the lesser of two evils, because we only have the two parties to choose from.

Like I stated in my previous comment, you can point fingers all day long, to this party and that one, but what good does it do? We can look back at the Dems for making it too easy to get a house, which the Repubs ignored because their pockets were getting fat with all the money the Dems constituents (and their own) were giving them. Our elected officials are a joke, they have no idea what real life is, they should have to work a real job every few years just to be reminded.

Only time will tell if the current administration will be able to make any changes. We will see.

Wouldnt that be nice! and I do think that term limits for our career politicians would help as well. Maybe a pay cut would be in order at this time too. Ohh well......its nice thought.

First. Being a complete moron and ignorant in every way to politics, I want to say how impressed I am with the knowledge on this sight. You fella's are some smart sob's.
Secondly, I have have a voice and an opinion on a lot of political issues. I do write my officials, mostly locally, when I want to voice my opinion. I would like to respond to some of the things I read on here, but honestly cant bring myself to do it. The arguments I have read on this thread sum up the state of this country for me. Is there any way in hell one person can be 100% correct. No. So, from where I sit (ignorant) you all who argue like your way is the only way.... You look really stupid, moronic, ignorant and angry. Harness those feelings and do something good that could actually make a difference. Write a song. Write a book. Do something positive for someone else and pass the message in a healthy way. Dems and Repubs have been arguing from the start. and always will. Why? because they are both wrong..right...wrong...right.
The one thing I am not ignorant about when it comes to government and politics is.... that they lie to us.9/11....*&^$#^** lie. It is so frustrating to talk politics. I see why people get hot. But I dont see why it turns them into a no it all dick. No it alls are ignorant. #46and2.

Kaw#462, its great that you participate in politics by communicating with your government idiots officials. And its OK to say what you think here too. Yeah we'll bash you a bit most likely, but one thing you'll find is that most of the bashing everyone gets and gives is done with love. Everyone really loves Ted and agree with him, but they just take the devils advocate position for something to do.

So let er rip. you'll get in the swing of it quick, and realize that we're not all stupid, moronic, ignorant or angry. . . well maybe the Union guys are always angry.

(See that's how it's done. Get a jab in and see where it leads)

Mad

I was just about to get pissed, then I realized that this might be one of those stupid moronic, ignorant and angry posts where some guy might just be saying something just because he wants to get me wound up. Its also known as a....

Post.

Of course now that Kawy 4+6 doesn't equal 2 clued me in finally, I have realized why all this time that my frustration continues to grow. From now on, I will listen to Dori Monson every day, with the hopes of hearing Ted, my new mentor. I will cease to discuss anything that has any little thing to do with Politics, for the fear of sounding contrary. I am going to see if I can write a book, because I don't have a musical bone in my body. And I am going to set out to do some positive things in my life for all of you guys that I have made myself look stupid arguing withengaged in spirited, enlightening conversation with. I think I'll start by taking Open Class or Vern and Ted out for some beers or something like that.

NAH, I'm gonna stick with the arguing....

Sorry Kawy462. Wink

From the library of Congress
The Boston Tea Party

Trouble began again after Parliament tried to help the East India Company sell tea in the colonies at a price lower than that of smuggled tea. It refused, however, to remove the old duty, which, from the colonists' perspective, "poisoned" the East India Company's cheap tea.

Again they resisted, but in as peaceful a manner as they could. Colonists in New York and Philadelphia, for example, convinced the captains of tea ships to turn around and take their cargoes back to England without paying the tea tax.
[Picture of the Boston 'Tea Party']

In Boston, however, the tea ships entered the harbor before the opposition organized. Townsmen spent the next twenty days trying without success to get clearances so the ships could go back to sea. Then, on the night before the tea could be seized by the customs service, a group of men disguised as Indians boarded the ships and emptied 342 chests of tea into the water. The proceedings were amazingly quiet except for the "ploop, ploop, ploop" of tea dropping into the sea.

A young lawyer from the town of Braintree named John Adams, an obscure cousin of the better- known Boston leader, Samuel Adams, and by no means a lover of mobs, found the event "magnificent." The "Boston Tea Party," as it was later called, was "so bold, so daring, so firm, intrepid, and inflexible," and would have such important and lasting consequences, he said, that "I cannot but consider it as an epoch in history."

The British government proved him right. It punished Boston with a series of "Coercive Acts" that the colonists promptly renamed the "Intolerable Acts." Among other things, they closed the port of Boston, throwing hundreds of people out of work, and changed the government of Massachusetts so the Crown had more power, the people less. Then Britain put Massachusetts under military rule, appointing General Thomas Gage as royal governor and sending troops to enforce his authority. From there on, the crisis got worse and worse, without respite.

Good one Vern. Of course everyone involved in the original B.T.P. had no idea why they did it being mindless conservatives. They just wanted to party. The were brainwashed by the FOX horseback Media.

I listened to the Air America on Monday 5 days after the event and according to them, all those attending the Tea Parties had no clue what the event was about. Their hatred for non Liberals is beyond reason. I don't hate Paul Aaron or Alex. I don't understand their thinking and think they are dead wrong on many of these issues. These people hate those who don't agree with Socialism. It's sad.

No,I think that only the Bush library in Texas will say that George W. was a good president. It will be a very small library, maybe a few westerns and thats about it.
I don't hate you either Ted,though I think that you are incredibly narrow minded.

the hands off policies and the promotion of the suspect loans by that administration did not crash the system until after he left office.

IT was all based on legalized gambling, just a shell game. And of course the explosion of the internet.

There should have been some fiscally responsable programs put in place.

Anyone notice that Sara Palin is getting beat the hell out of by the Liberal media on a daily basis? Why would they do that? Hmmmmmmm.

Maybe because she was only brought into the national spotlight to try and grab the Hillary supporters?

The entire State had Tea Parties which totaled over 10,000 people during a work day.

I wonder how many of those people are currently collecting unemployment.

The Tea Parties were very successful!

Really?

The things that crack me up the most about this topic are:

-"This is a bi-partisan protest"

-I am pretty sure a lot of the protesters believe social programs are something that were created after January 2009

The Electoral College is a necessity, States have borders, and so should the electoral process.

He talks about two years service, I think that is a good thing as long as the rich kids do it also.

Are you F'ing serious??? Once again this is an example of government overstepping its boundry. Its not the governments job to tell parents that they have to make their kids volunteer for government garbage, its parents job to decide that, government should not have one bit of influence.

As far as the illegal migrant workers, I'm on the fence with that. I don't think they should be kicked out or prosecuted but given an easy way to get a work VISA. Do you want to pay $10 for an apple? No one will work for the wages they are paid so let em do it.

Send the "migrant workers" home, if they want to work, they can do it the right way and wait just as others have to. I gaurantee you if you stopped handing out welfare checks, there would be a hell of an application line to pick fruit.

quote:
I'm OK with the bailouts, I understand the bigger picture for them. I don't believe most here do.

Thats just it, is you DONT see the bigger picture, along with many who support the bailouts. The problem can ONLY be corrected when you let the ones who fail, go away. What happened is the American people were hoodwinked into believing that if we didnt bail out these banks, that the whole economy would collapse, Well we bailed them out and guess what, the economy has pretty much collapsed anyway, and now we are left with more debt, and who got away with it??? People like Barney Frank, who are still in charge of oversight commitees that were supposed to monitor this Government infusion into the private sector, which failed, and caused the economic system to fail (Like what always happens when government gets involved in economics).

What would have happended had the government NOT bailed out the shi**y banks, is all of the assets the shi**y banks had would have been sold off dirt cheap, mainly to other banks, which in turn would have spurned investment into those banks, knowing that the assests aquired would be sold at a profit in the future. This rewards the banks and investors that were conservative in their investments.

How can you expect people and business to invest in failed banks that have been bailed out??? That doesnt do much for confidence, and is the reason we wont see economic recovery for awhile to come. Had good banks been allowed to aquire assets bad banks were forced to sell off at cut rate prices, we would already be starting to see a recovery.

1: Economic uncertainty:

When the government owns most of the stake in the financial system, and individuals are uncertain if they will be able to ever have access to their capital if they invest in the financial system, thats stifles the economy and limits economic growth.

2: First Amendment rights:
When the government limits speech in ways that are directly referred to in the first amendment, who says that government wont limit other rights?

3: Second amendment rights:
When the government limits the right to bear arms by taxing ammunition in such ways as they tax cigarettes, to discourage use, or to even go beyond that and tax it so high, that almost nobody will be able to afford ammunition. The second amendment was written as the last resort to a government that has reached beyond its means. Its the only thing that stands in the way of BO's utopia.

4: The Family:
If you think that BO's hitler youth goes over the head of parental control, what makes you think that he will stop there?

5: National Security
When you unnecessarily release prisoners from guantanimo, meet face to face with radicals like Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Kiss the hand and bow to the head of one of the most midieval regimes on the face of the earth, and portray yourself as a pacifist, what are more important threats like russia and china going to think of you??

I can keep going if youd like????
